InSciTe Intellectual Property (IP) in Innovative Science

For modern day scientists it is essential to become conversant in matters of Intellectual Property with the view of interacting with legal experts, identifying the legal landscape of relevant research and potential inventions in one’s own work, and how to proceed to patenting. Especially in the context of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) a basic understanding of handling of IP, confidentiality, freedom to operate and value extraction is required to mitigate risks in complex collaborations. This course lays the foundation for a basic understanding of Intellectual Property in the context of innovative science.
This 2.5 day training is aiming at people interested in Intellectual Property related to innovative science in the biomedical and biobased field. Study credits for this course will be established at Maastricht University.

InSciTe IPR-Intensive Entrepreneurship

This course creates understanding of the value proposition and value chain in bio-medical and bio-based industries and the ability to identify the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)-related challenges and business opportunities in these areas. It helps future entrepreneurs to understand the manner in which to operate in order to maximise the commercial opportunities of their start-up ventures. In addition to financing, pricing and reimbursement of life-science related products it teaches how IPR-intensive R&D can be positioned as a value proposition in business plans and pitches with the view of moving from lab to market.
