Medace, a service provider with a unique work-learning environment for the development of medical devices and cell therapy (ATMP) products, is now fully up and running at the heart of the medical hub at Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus.

The company was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Chemelot InSciTe, proving the commercial viability of the (Bio)Medical Accelerator Matrix BEAM-NL. Read this interview, in which CEO of Medace Danielle Curfs and InSciTe's managing director Emiel Staring elaborate on the unique added value of the Medace activities.

Emiel Staring is proud of this spin-off and was honoured to be one of the first clients in Maastricht.

‘I’m especially proud because Medace’s working model represents what we’ve worked so hard on from the start: connecting communities and uniting researchers and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and disciplines.'

Warp speed for establishing Medace facilities

The Medace team established their 2100m2 brand new R&D, cleanroom and office facilities with the help of their partners and collaborators in a record time of only 6 months. To enable you to take an inside view, we invite you to watch: 'Realizing Medace'. Interested in these facilities and services? Please contact Danielle Curfs or Kurt Gielen of Medace for more information.

'Launching Medace in January and planning for a grant opening in the spring, got overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A crazy time to start a company. But just as the development routes for medical devices and ATMP products, we are used to bumpy rides. However, we have taken off successfully with a state-of-the art facility, achieving ISO 13485:2016 accreditation and our first 6 clients to serve. As CEO of Medace I am more than proud to welcome you to our company.'
